Carham Hall is situated in a beautiful rural area close to Coldstream and Cornhill on Tweed. Kelso is approximately seven miles distant and Edinburgh around eighty minutes drive away.
Cornhill on Tweed, a village, is located just south of the border with a fine hotel The Collingwood Arms, where excellent accommodation and food is available. There is also a post office with a first class cafe, where lunches and teas are served.
Coldstream, known as the `the first true border toon`, is a charming small town built on the River Tweed. The famous Coldstream Guards originated here and still maintain a connection with the town. There are various pubs and hotels in Coldstream and a few excellent cafes and coffee houses.
Kelso has one of the most impressive town squares in the country and it has a selection of cafes, pubs, restaurants and hotels. Kelso is situated on the River Tweed and is the location of the famous fishing pool The Junction Pool. Kelso has the ruins of a splendid Abbey and Floors Castle, the home of Lord Roxburgh is on the outskirts of the town. Kelso Race Course, is famous for horse racing and events take place throughout the year.
The nearest railway station is Berwick upon Tweed, on the main east coast line, London to Edinburgh and is 15 miles from Carham. The nearest airports are Newcastle and Edinburgh.
